UK/Aus ISP Blocks

Censored.TV video links are being blocked by certain ISP's. Not to say we are perfect, but most of the time, our videos are up and running just fine. We are able to lookup the closest server to your location and make sure you receive our videos fast and with little buffering.

Recently, we've received reports that ISPs (the people you pay for internet access) are blocking the urls that our videos come from. This results in our video players perpetually loading or displaying a message like: "The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported." It has even prevented some users from being able to login to our mobile apps.

We are putting together some strategies to bypass this censorship, but until then, there are a few things you can do to help.

Disable your filters

With most ISPs that block urls like ours for "Malicious Content", you are able to login to your ISP's website and disable the filter. For example, Virgin UK customers can login to their Virgin accounts and disable or decrease the protection from "Media Safe Virus". Telstra customers in Australia have been able to set "Broadband Network Protection" to Low and that will unblock us. We are not quite sure what other blocks these services impose, but it's your internet connection. You should be able to use it however you wish.

Use a VPN

Yes, we know... this isn't great. It is ridiculous that in order to view the content you are already paying for, you'd have to use a VPN just so that your ISP will let you stream it. But this definitely solves the problem and gives you some added privacy on top of it.

Call and complain

This is a huge step even once we solve the problem. Call your ISP and make some noise. Let them know how stupid it is that you have to go through all of these hoops just to watch a comedy show. Just remember to be nice and not say anything threatening or illegal in your country.
