San Diego Sector Border Patrol agents united with local first responders to save the lives of two illegal immigrants who got stuck while attempting to scale a new segment of the border wall. A third fell and was injured, reports Breitbart News.
On September 13, Border Patrol agents monitoring a new section of border wall in close proximity to the Otay Mesa Port of Entry in Southern California discovered two female illegal immigrants stuck at the summit of the new 30-foot border wall, as reported to Breitbart News Texas by San Diego Sector Border Patrol officials.
The agents also encountered a third person, a male Mexican migrant, hurt and lying in the dirt at the bottom of the primary and secondary walls, officials said. The man injured himself after an attempt to climb to the apex of the wall and dropping to the ground. Officials also say they discovered that a fourth man was unharmed after successful climbing over the primary wall.
Border Patrol agents requested backup from local emergency medical technicians and the San Diego Fire Department to tend to the illegal migrants’ medical needs. LiveLeak posted dramatic video footage that shows firemen making their way up an extension ladder and assisting one of the women to get down to the ground safely.
LiveLeak wrote, “An entirely unreported occurrence are the large number of rescues that are now taking place along the new border wall. Unable to get down once they reach the top, dozens of people have had to be rescued. In this video, 3 people are detained after being rescued in San Diego.”
EMS workers brought the injured man, who is said to be a citizen of Mexico, to a local medical facility to treat his injuries.
Agents took the other three undocumented travelers into custody for being unlawfully present on U.S. land. The group was sent to a processing station where they will be sent back to their country of origin under Title 42 Coronavirus protection procedures following a medical screening and criminal background check.
Breitbart Texas questioned the San Diego Sector Border Patrol about the number of similar incidents that occur on new segments of the 30-foot border walls. Officials replied that the exact figures were not readily on hand as of now.
According to LiveLeak there are a “large number” of rescues similar to this incident going on all along new sections of the border wall structures. Users on the online video platform claim dozens of people are being rescued with law enforcement resources after being left abandoned by human traffickers.
Breitbart Texas reported earlier this year that another group of illegal immigrants needed to be rescued in the same region as this most recent incident. Aaron M. Heitke, the San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent, posted photos on Twitter of a rescue on January 5, 2020.
“On Jan. 5, just after midnight, agents & SD fire dept. rescued 3 subjects that had become stuck atop the 30ft. border wall. The Mex. nationals were safely lowered to the ground & arrested by #USBP. Smugglers place an emphasis on profits over safety. Thankfully no one was injured,” he wrote.
On that occasion, human traffickers left a man and two young women high and dry on top of the wall.
“These three were very fortunate to not have fallen from the top of the wall which could have resulted in serious injury or death,” Heitke said in a statement. “These dangers are not important considerations to smugglers, who place an emphasis on profits over safety.”
Hope did that fat pig make it up there?
