Conservative author and commentator Candace Owens confirmed that earlier in the month she had been in contact with high-powered attorneys to take Facebook fact-checkers to court after she was allegedly flagged for “misinformation.”

“It is time to fact-check the fact-checkers,” Owens told her followers in a video posted to Twitter. “I’m going to put these suckers through discovery and figure out what the relationship is that they have with Facebook.”

To illustrate her allegations of ongoing censorship at the hands of the tech giant, Owens cited that one of her “opinions” about the COVID-19 pandemic, which was first shared by a doctor, was subsequently “fact-checked” by Facebook’s third party gatekeepers.

“Quite literally a doctor gave his opinion about COVID-19, which I shared, and Facebook issued a strike on my account because they said only information that they agree with about COVID-19 … was acceptable,” she stated, according to Fox News.

Owens claims that the fact-checking overreach on social media culminated in her Facebook page being demonetized.

“I decided I was not going to give up and sit down,” she told her supporters, promising to always use whatever platform she is left with to fight. “The fact-checkers … they are activists for the Left that shut down your speech if they don’t like it.”

The founder of the BLEXIT movement started her own legal website to put together the funds for the costly court battle she sees ahead of her.

“Our freedoms are being stripped away,” the new website states. “The overlords of Big Tech are determining what Americans can and cannot say, share, like, and post. Support our legal efforts today as we fight back against Facebook’s fact-checkers, confronting those who are suppressing free speech, thought, and expression across our great country.”

In 2016, Facebook introduced its third-party fact-checking programs to supposedly control what they considered to be “disinformation,” but right-wingers on the platform have pointed out that the fact-checkers have a heavy far-left bias.

“The fact-checkers apply ratings to content that range from ‘false,’ ‘altered’ and ‘missing context,’” Fox News reports. “When such ratings are applied, Facebook may either reduce its distribution or add labels to notify users about additional reporting elsewhere.”

A recent, highly-publicized example of liberal bent in posts tech giants chose to censor were stories from the New York Post that put the family of Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden in a bad light. Revelations of corruption and sordid behavior found on his son Hunter Biden’s laptop were given a restricted reach on Facebook and fully blocked from being shared or direct messaged on the Twitter platform.

Owens, who has made headlines as an outspoken black conservative, announced on the day of the election that she accepted a new position with The Daily Wire and will be relocating to Nashville.

The co-founder of Daily Wire, Jeremy Boreing, commented on the celebrated commentator’s new position saying, “Candace is going to make the move with us to Nashville,” he said. “I don’t want to tell people too much what we’re working on … but we are working on a show together; Candace and I have been collaborating behind the scenes.”

Boreing confirmed that Owen’s new show will be recorded in front of a live studio audience in Nashville and will be available to watch on their platform by early March.

Boreing promised the new program will deliver something “different in kind” than anything else being presented in right-wing media.

“I’m so excited. I think the time is now. The energy feels right,” Owens, who is pregnant with her first child, said before adding that it’s “high time” conservatives come together.
