A video posted to Twitter depicting a woman performing a sex act on a man with her feet was “liked“ by the Chinese ambassador to the UK, reports Breitbart News.
On Wednesday morning, the Twitter account belonging to Liu Xiaoming, the Chinese ambassador to the UK, “liked” a video from another Chinese account with a username that translates to “show off wife daily.” A description of the account reads, “Beautiful legs in stockings, share with bitches from time to time, welcome to communicate.”
Liu “liked” a post that was captioned, “lucky quality single guy, warm up first” followed by a video of a woman stimulating a man’s penis with her foot, also known as a footjob.
According to Breitbart, the video and subsequent “like” by the Chinese ambassador was first discovered by Luke de Pulford, a fellow of Hong Kong Watch, a UK-based charity that monitors threats to freedom in Hong Kong. De Pulford warned followers, “do not read this if eating. The Chinese Ambassador [to] the UK has just liked a tweet of a woman masturbating a man with her feet.”
“Is this what Roosevelt called big stick diplomacy?” de Pulford asked.
Since the dirty “like” was made public, the account belonging to Liu has “unliked” the post.
Benedict Rogers of Hong Kong Watch told Breitbart London: “Liu Xiaoming blocked me on Twitter a few weeks ago, and I am glad he did. If this is how he spends his time – when he’s not spreading mendacity or harassing critics – I would rather not see it.”
This isn’t the first time Liu has been in the news recently. Earlier this summer he made international headlines when he denied the Chinese Communist Party is running concentration camps in Xinjiang. His statement came after being shown footage that allegedly depicted blindfolded Uyghur Muslims being loaded onto trains in the region.
The footjob scandal came one day after a group of British MPs from across the political spectrum sent a letter to Liu condemning the alleged actions of the Chinese government in Xinjiang, comparing the situation to Nazi Germany.
Also this summer, Liu became the center of controversy when he called on Chinese students studying in the UK to “serve the motherland.”
Addressing a group of students in the UK, he reportedly said, “I hope you will carry on the glorious tradition of patriotism. I hope you will always live your personal dreams in the greater cause of striving for the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation,” according to Breitbart London.
Professor Christopher Hughes of the London School of Economics told The Times of London: “The idea of patriotism, in the Chinese context, means supporting the Communist Party. It means wanting unification with Taiwan. It means completely crushing Tibetan aspirations for autonomy. It means crushing Hong Kong. It challenges a lot of our principles of academic freedom.”
“The more Chinese students there are, the more they are controlled and used by the Chinese embassy. There are various groups that are set up to monitor their behavior. So they don’t feel secure. That means you get creeping self-censorship,” he said.
Neither the Chinese Communist Party nor the Chinese embassy in London has commented on the footjob video.
